The Migration Agency was engaged by global steel manufacturer, SSAB Swedish Steel, to sponsor a senior business manager to help establish a specialised product division in Australia.
Following the changes to 457 visa* rules, the employee’s nominated occupation was no longer eligible for 457 visa sponsorship. The Australian business needed us to find a solution to secure this vital employee to continue to work in the business.
We worked with the client to identify a suitable alternate occupation classification and re-classify the employee’s position.
Within a week of the 457 changes, the employee had a clear, new visa pathway to continue to support the growth of this strategic business division for Australia for the medium to long term.
