Q&A with Lyly Mach, Senior Immigration Business Partner at TMA
How did you come to be interested in migration law?
My first experience with migration law was when I was interning with a local solicitor during my law school days. As I started helping with migration law cases, I felt pulled towards this discipline.
A career as an immigration lawyer offers the opportunity to make a profound impact on people’s lives by helping them navigate the complex Australian legal system and secure new opportunities in Australia. It’s a field that combines legal expertise with advocacy, allowing lawyers to support families, refugees and skilled workers to achieve their immigration goals.
Immigration law constantly provides new challenges and the chance to engage with global issues such as human rights and international mobility. This appeals to me as I’m passionate about justice, cultural diversity and making a difference in people’s lives.
