On 14 December 2015, the Australian Government introduced new criminal and civil penalties and visa cancellation provisions for 'paying for visa sponsorship ' conduct. This allows for sanctions to be imposed on a person who asks for, receives, offers or provides a benefit in return for visa sponsorship or employment (that requires visa sponsorship). The Department of Immigration and Australian law enforcement agencies are targeting people who use scams with false promises of work and permanent residence in Australia as a way to exploit or steal money from people.
We are committed to educating people about the correct processes for applying to live and work in Australia and to assist them to protect themselves from migration fraud and scams. It is important that you understand your rights and your employer's obligations to ensure you are protecting yourself. Contact us for assistance if you are concerned about your sponsorship arrangements.
The Migration Agency prides itself on the unbeatable service and value we deliver. There are many cheap options available in the market, and we are not one. We are advocates in our industry and provide a high quality premium service. We can deliver premium value through our unique operating model and best-in-class case management technology, but we don't cut costs. We often see people get themselves into trouble because they don’t understand the hidden costs of the cheaper option. While it may be a great offer up front, it typically costs you more in the long run. We’ve done research on this, and would be happy to share it with you to help you make the best decision. We can share insights you would only have after 10 years in the legal industry seeing the cases that succeed and those that don't.
The costs you can expect to pay include your migration agent's professional fee and the visa charge which is determined by the visa type and number of dependents travelling with you to Australia. You can estimate the cost of the visa using the Department of Immigration and Border Control Visa Pricing Estimator tool http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/Pricing-Estimator.asp. In addition, you may also need to pay for an assessment of your occupational qualifications, police check, health examination, financial business reporting, English language testing, translations and certifications.
Processing times vary depending on the type of visa, country where lodged and quality of application made. Delays can result from poor documentation and presentation, misunderstanding of visa requirements, the need for an interview, health issues, complications regarding the criminal or security status of the applicant or dependants, difficulty in obtaining satisfactory supporting documents, requests by the Visa Office for additional supporting information, and visa Office workload demands, staffing limits, application backlogs and identified priorities.
You can apply for a visa by completing an application form and paying a prescribed fee. Most applications can be done online. Applying for a visa can be a complex process but we can help to simplify it for you. It is important to ensure your visa application is submitted in such a way that it will not be refused, because consequences of having your visa refused can be irreversible and you may loose the opportunity to come to Australia in future.
